Chemical Safety Building

The design of this chemical storage building takes great care to package the powerful MEP systems required to keep users safe into a streamlined and efficient footprint. Capping a utilitarian program inside, the single gently sloping hipped roof creates one sleek mass, visually demure, with the single exhaust stack as the lone exclamation point.

My role started by helping to bring technical details to completion during construction documents. I then led the design team through a detailed MEP coordination process to organize the overhead elements into logical order and provide a clash-free model for the construction team to work with. Lastly, I led the construction administration team, representing Ballinger in collaboration with the contractor and the owner during the construction phase.
